ACADEMY COURSE DIRECTOR: TONY WHITE
The Museum of 2D Animation initiative is the dream child of BAFTA winning animator, Tony White. Tony began his career back in England, uniquely apprenticing with 3 of the greatest animation legends ever... the late Ken Harris (principal Warner Brothers animator on 'Bugs Bunny' and the 'Roadrunner'), the late Art Babbit (golden-age Disney animator, working on 'Pinocchio' and 'Fantasia') and the late Richard Williams (3 times Oscar winner and author of the animator's bible, 'The Animator's Survival Kit'). Tony now wants to give back what he has learned through the "2D ACADEMY", seeking to offer the best teaching and production opportunities to our 2D animators of the future. Support us on Patreon to help us do this. |
Tony is a respected master animator in his own right, with over 200 TV commercials, 2 TV Specials, several short films and the opening titles for ‘The Pink Panther Strikes Again’ movie to his credit. He ran his own London-based studio for over 20 years and is the author of several best-selling books on animation. Tony moved to the States in 1998 and is currently living, working and teaching in the Seattle region. Here is a copy of his "archive showreel"...
Tony’s biggest passion is to see innovative and imaginative traditional 2D animation return to the USA, although he loves all forms of animation when it’s well executed. Tony’s other passion is to pass on the knowledge he has offers a number of online courses where he teaches others to animate, or refine their skills. Here's an introduction to his forthcoming online course, "Drawing for Animation"...
Yes, we even teach the fabled "bouncing ball" technique!...
